Released, May, 2026 - 'Classical Guitar Suites' is my first album of pieces written for the classical guitar. It has  elements of several genres including folk, flamenco and classical. I've always thought of the pieces as being in groups due to their overall feel and so, they are listed as suites on the album. The first suite is in E Major and has mostly a relaxed and contemplative feel. The opening track 'Memories' was written while I was in France during covid and was inspired by the feeling of wanting to return home.  For the second suite, I definitely had Norway on the mind! One piece of which 'Nisse Dance' was mostly written while on holiday to Norway in June 2023. A 'Nisse' is small mythological being, similar to a gnome that looks after your xmass presents and likes to dance! The piece 'Breidtjernet' is the name of the lake I'm sat by on the front cover. The third suite has a folky feel with it's first piece 'Rondo Reel' being inspired by learning pieces like 'Toss the feathers' and 'Tune for a harmonium'. One of the pieces of the fourth suite was written while in Portugal. Where I was staying I could hear the sound of a river in the distance. This river is called 'Ocreza'. I like to think of this piece as a river flowing and taking on different appearances and moods during it's journey. I will soon be making the sheet music to these piece available too.
